Georgia Power Co’s Wansley Station implements ATI's Mobile AWARE Product For Performing Handheld-based Boiler Inspections
SAN JOSE, CA - 9/30/2005 -
Automation Technology, Inc. (ATI), a supplier of Collaborative Asset Management solutions for the energy industries, is pleased to announce that Georgia Power Co’s Wansley Station (Wansley) has acquired ATI's Mobile AWARE product for performing and documenting boiler inspections using a mobile hand-held device. This implementation builds on Wansley’s use of Aware over the past several years for managing their boiler tube failure program.
This move was driven by a need to improve documentation and management of knowledge pertaining to the condition of boilers, and easily utilize that knowledge to plan for future outages. This enables Wansley the ability to centralize knowledge pertaining to boiler conditions, and enables engineers to analyze failure trends. By doing this, reporting is streamlined and standardized from one central location as well.
